Landscape Pillows are a series I designed for Natural Habitat inspired by the mural "A
Youth Vision of Holyoke" based at Hampshire College, Amherst, MA. The series highlights urban and rural life and utopic “natural habitats” envisioned by youth from Nuestras Raíces, an urban agriculture organization based in post industrial Holyoke, MA in collaboration with students, faculty and staff of Community Partnerships for Social Change (CPSC) that I organized while the CPSC Alumni Fellow in Arts and Social Change. Rajka Design in India helped conceptualize and create the textile series in appliqué and are part of the fair trade exhange.
